L ondra - Il popolarissimo chef televisivo britannico Jamie Oliver ha esultato sui social network per la nuova tassa sulle bibite zuccherate introdotta dal governo conservatore del Regno Unito guidato da David Cameron. Con un video che lo ritrae di fronte al parlamento di Westminster e che è stato prontamente pubblicato su Facebook e reso disponibile a centinaia di migliaia di suoi follower, Oliver, famoso anche in Italia, ha esclamato: "Ce l'abbiamo fatta, ci siamo riusciti!".

Lo chef era stato proprio fra i principali promotori della tassa, presentata oggi dal ministro dell'Economia George Osborbe con la legge finanziaria e con la quale ora l'esecutivo punta a raccogliere almeno 530 milioni di sterline (circa 675 milioni di euro al cambio attuale) per la promozione delle attività sportive fra i giovani e nelle scuole. Oliver da anni cerca di introdurre nel Regno Unito un'alimentazione più sana e bilanciata, prendendo spesso spunto dalla cucina mediterranea in generale e da quella italiana nello specifico. Di qui la sua lotta contro gli snack ipercalorici, contro i fast food e in ultimo anche contro le bibite zuccherate. L'ammontare della tassa non e' ancora stato ufficializzato. (AGI)
