(VEE) ITALY AND MEXICO CITY BOOST THEIR COOPERATION

(VELINO) Roma, 28 Feb - Boosting cooperation between Italy and Mexico City was the main theme on the agenda of the meeting between the Italian Ambassador to Mexico, Luigi Maccotta, and the Mayor of the Capital, Miguel Angel Mancera Espinosa. In particular, the two high officials discussed how to boost cooperation in the area of business, security and culture. During the talks, Mr Mancera Espinosa expressed great appreciation for Italy's qualified and active presence in the Capital. On his part, Ambassador Maccotta presented the initiatives to be organised on 2 March for the First Italian Design Day in the World. It will be an important milestone on the way towards 2018, when Mexico City will be World Design Capital. The Day is promoted by the Foreign Ministry through the 100 events organised in an equal number of cities around the world. The aim is to highlight the Italian art and ingeniousness in design and give more visibility to Italian companies, which will be given the opportunity to show to the world the strengths and points of excellence of Italian design and the quality of Italian products and brands. vel
