(VELINO) Roma, 16 May - Some of Italy's most dynamic SMEs, listed in the AIM segment of the Borsa Italiana, were presented in London during the AIM Italia Conference 2017, that was held at the London Stock Exchange. The Italian delegation was led by Barbara Lunghi, head of Borsa Italiana's Primary Markets division. The meeting was attended also by eight top-calibre companies representing sectors such as media, ITC, logistics, industrial equipment, agro-industry, financial services and eco-materials. The morning session was dedicated to the presentations of the participating firms before an audience of potential British investors. The works continued with b2b meetings in the afternoon. The Italian delegation was later invited to a networking event organised at the residence of the Italian Ambassador in London, Pasquale Terracciano, for the visiting delegation and the representatives of the local financial community. In his welcoming address, Ambassador Terracciano underlined the importance of the solid partnership between the Italian Embassy in London and Borsa Italiana. He also praised the versatile AIM Italia instrument, which combines regulatory rigour and streamlined procedures for accessing the capital market. "Italy's productive structure rests on SMEs, as a result there is no doubt that we should encourage local investors to focus on this asset class," said Ambassador Terracciano. AIM Italia is the segment of Borsa Italiana dedicated to SMEs with a remarkable growth potential. In December 2016, 77 SMEs were listed on the exchange, with a capitalisation accounting for 2.9 billion euros. vel
