Warsaw - Warsaw "discovers" the figure of Enrico Berlinguer, the most popular leader of the Italian Communist Party, the protagonist of Walter Veltroni's documentary. "Quando c'era Berlinguer" was released in Italy in 2014, introducing the figure of Enrico Berlinguer thirty years after his death.
This portrait of him is historically accurate while hinting towards feelings of memory and nostalgia for sincerity and participation in politics. This documentary film gives an account not only of the man who led the Italian Communist Party towards new and unthinkable directions, but also of a pivotal decade in Italian history. The screening, organized by the Italian Cultural Institute of Warsaw in collaboration with Dom Spotkan z Historia, is scheduled for Saturday, June 24.
