Italian Design Day to be celebrated in Tehran

Tehran - The designer Orietta Risis and the architect Andrea Scremin participated in the first "Italian Design Day" in Tehran. The event was held simultaneously in over 100 cities across the world with initiatives dedicated to Italian design and Italy as a brand, coordinated by the Farnesina in collaboration with the Triennale di Milano and the Salone del Mobile.

Following the launch of the event, the Italian Ambassador Mauro Conciatori and the two partners of the Studio Bianco-Arancio participated in two initiatives at the Contemporary Art Museum and at the Centre of Excellence in Technological Architecture of the University of Teheran. They met both Iranian professionals and students with a lecture entitled, "The Role of Design for the Creation of a Project: from conception to construction".

The event in Tehran was attended by Arash Ahmadi, curator of Iran's Pavilion at the 21st Triennale Design Milano 2016. Upon appointment by Federlegno, Mr Ahmadi gave a presentation on the topic "Milano means design", and Davide Forloni, Area Manager for Europe, Russia, Turkey and Iran of the Istitituto Marangoni, School of Art, Fashion and Design, launched a design competition for students. The initiative will continue with an exhibition of Italian design objects on show in some museums and theatres in Tehran, thanks to the collaboration of some of the major importers of Italian furniture.
