Cars: Vintage in Stuttgart, Italian passion on Fair
Vintage cars parade through the streets of Stuttgart where, on March 2, will take place 'Retro Classics 2017, the largest exhibition in Europe. More than 1,550 exhibitors will present in the german city 'the classic car world’. The Italian Culture Institute in Stuttgart will sponsor the section "Italian Passion", in which important collectors as Ferrari, Stanguellini and Panini will be presented. "Italian Passion" will also represents the Made in Italy in all its variety: from the icons of the design up to the wines, fashion, jewelry, music and art.
Design: Italian shapes and creativity in Jakarta
Italian design and creativity land in Jakarta. On the occasion of the Day of Italian Design in the world, the Embassy of Italy in the Indonesian capital, the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and the Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with the showroom LAFLO, organize the initiative: "Living the Italian Design". The exhibition will be open from 2 to 16 March. Its highlights are the Italian creativity in design through the involvement of architects and designers as well as Indonesian local showrooms interested in Made in Italy. The event will provide further initiatives: a photographic exhibition at the Italian Institute of Culture "My Italian design", a tour and seminars dedicated to Italian design.
Food: culture and recipes, from Sardinia to Osaka
A meeting of flavors, stories and rhythms from the Mediterranean. Especially from Sardinia, land of gastronomy among the most popular in the world. The initiative comes from 'Italian Cultural Institute in Osaka, Japan, the occasion is the Spring Festival, on March 26. IIC will organize an introduction and tasting of Sardinian cuisine. Not only that, the narrator Enedina Sanna, will introduce the public through the tradition of oral storytelling. ‘Stories of trees, trees of stories' are tales taken from Bible and classical mythology, fairy picked off from memories and ancient people’s traditions. The day will end in ‘Looking for Eden’ concert: ethnic music and jazz by Enzo Favata who will perform a journey between acoustic and electronic music through archaic melodies, through complex harmonic constructions related to the tradition of polyphonic singing of Sardinia.
Cinema: Italian film festival returns in Scotland
The annual celebration of Italian cinema returns with a wide-ranging program that stretches from promising new talents to established greats.
Highlights in this year’s 24th edition include Paolo Virzi’s hugely successful Like Crazy and the Kafka-esque comedy Ears which was one of the discoveries of the Venice Film Festival.The Festival also pays tribute to the late Ettore Scola,who died last year, with three of his finest films including the Oscar-nominated A Special Day teaming Sophia Loren with Marcello Mastroianni. Audiences in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Inverness and Aberdeen can discover what has been happening in il cinema italiano from 3 to 16 March. The Italian Film Festival is co-directed by Allan Hunter and Richard Mowe, and is staged in collaboration with the Italian Institute in Edinburgh (founding partners), the Italian Consul General, Creative Scotland, Sarti restaurants in Glasgow, Zucca in Edinburgh and Cinecittà Luce.
Industry: Pharmacy Expo 17 takes place in Cairo
From March 4 to 6 in Cairo, Egypt, will take place '' Pharmacy Expo 2017 '. The Italian Embassy of Egypt will organize the event, the first of this kind specialized in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and personal care. The event will present the new market trends, and the companies will be able to get in touch with customers from all over the world. The success of the event is proved by the growing participation of local and foreign exhibitors and it’s considered an important first step for those who are planning to expand the scope of their business through different channels.
University: Italian offer for students in Tirana
Italian university offer on catwalk in Tirana: 'Study in Italy' is in its fifth edition and aims to promote the Italian academic system, with the setting up of stands and presentations of the courses of Italian universities. On march 31 a joint seminar between Italian and Albanian universities will be organized and will present the opportunities offered by European programs to promote mobility and educational and scientific cooperation. INDIRE representatives are involved in the event. Admission is free, and personnel of the Consular School of the Italian Embassy in Tirana will be available for information on the procedures to study in Italy. Architecture: Novembre’s Black Box in Tokyo
A conference to tell the visionary power of the interior design and of objects. Architect Fabio Novembre will be in Tokyo to present , on March 3, Italian Design Day. His work is now one of the few voices out of the chorus of Italian architecture. Evocative environments usable at multiple levels, in which the visitor is always Actor in a world of multiple suggestions, from cinema to fashion, from art to literature. Architecture results in strong expressiveness, never an end in itself. A work of icons and symbols that will last over time and show that another future is possible for the Italian and international design. The conference will be held in Italian with consecutive translation into Japanese. Novembre is born in Lecce, in 1984 and he moved to Milan where he graduated in Architecture at the Polytechnic. In 1992 he moved to New York where he attended a film directing course at New York University. During his stay in America he meets Anna Molinari, who in 1994 commissioned him his first job: the shop "Anna Molinari Blumarine" in Hong Kong. In the same year he returned to Milan and opened his own studio. He collaborated with the biggest Italian design companies such as Driade, Cappellini, Venini and Kartell, also developing showrooms, interior and boutiques from international companies as Lavazza, Blumarine and Stuart Weitzman.
Culture: ‘Italian of the year’ celebrated in Berlin
Amelia Massetti with Artemisia project and Gianluca Segato with app Uniwhere are the winners of the Prize COMITES Berlin "The Italian of the Year" 2016. The Prize will be awarded at public award ceremony at the Embassy of Italy in Berlin on March 14, 2017. This year marks the tenth edition of the Prize "the Italian of the year" organized by the Comites Berlin, the organ of representation of Italians abroad, which annually rewards two Italians, a woman and a man, who in any way have contributed significantly to the promotion and enhancement of Italian culture and identity in the territory of the Berlin District. Among the more than fifty reports, the jury COMITES Berlin has decided this year to reward the social commitment to the inclusion of people with disabilities to Amelia Massetti, founder of Artemisia project, and the successful young entrepreneurship by Gianluca Segato, founder of Uniwhere, a brilliant young startupper that made Berlin his home European thanks to an investment by a German fund. The awards ceremony will be held at the Hall of the Embassy of Italy Festivities in Berlin, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador Pietro Benassi, Director of the Italian Cultural Luigi Reitani, the President of the Com.It.Es Berlin Simonetta Dona, in addition to other important Italian and German authorities and institutions. A festive evening that will also give space to Italian style of excellence in Berlin in the fields of art, music, gastronomy.
Graphic: Italian Technologies in Ho Chi Minh
Graphic Made in Italy will be on display in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from 21 to 23 March 2017. Printech Fair will be an opportunity for Italian companies to bet and place themselves on the Asian country's market. The Office of Industrial Technology, Energy and the Environment ICE - Agency, in collaboration with the trade association ACIMGA, has therefore organized a collective participation in the Fair that will be placed simultaneously with the historical ProPak Vietnam. Moda: Italiana@CHIC, Made in Italy in Shangai
ICE-Agency and Ente Moda Italy organized the third edition of the Italian Fashion @ CHIC, exhibition dedicated to the Italian companies within the next CHIC Shanghai edition, scheduled for 15 to 17 March 2017. The event, born from the synergy between Ministry of Economic Development, ICE-Agency, Sistema Moda Italy, Ente Moda Italy and Assocalzaturifici that together are continuing the path started in March 2015 to present the Italian fashion system combined in one of the most exciting and dynamic markets for the sector, China.
The CHIC fair, arrived at the 27th edition, will take place at the "National Exhibition & Convention Center" in Shanghai, the heart of the Asian economy button and location for the most influential showrooms. For March 2017 edition are expected over 125,000 visitors from all over China and other major Asian markets. "The Italian Fashion" area will be placed together with the other Overseas Pavilion in CHIC Fashion Journey section of Hall 2 , and will be dedicated to present the fall / winter 2017/2018 season for clothing, footwear and accessories for men, women and children.
Regioni: Marche's Artcraft in Buenos Aires
From 7 to 22 March Buenos Aires is hosting the exhibition of the artist Anna Claudi, Marche’s painter extinguished 40 years ago. Claudi is known nationally and internationally for her ties with the territory of its region but also for her artistic quality. Her paintings are characterized by an exotic style, with naive and visionary atmosphere. The exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Marche Region, the Foundation Claudi, the Marche Study Centre, the Associations Marche in Argentina and the Council of the Marches abroad, will be enriched with a parade of hats manufactured by traditional Sorbatti company, family business that over the years has turned into a modern and dynamic industry, which combines perfectly tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and technology.
Cinema: Scaparro’s Last Pulcinella in Istanbul
The Italian Cultural Institute in Istanbul, as part of its ‘Tuesday to Cinema’, dedicate the day of March 21 at the Scaparro’s moovie ‘The Last Pulcinella’. The film traces the journey of a Neapolitan actor, Michelangelo (Massimo Ranieri) who resignedly reads and sings his Pulcinella in Naples. He will be forced to leave Naples for Paris after his ex-wife (Valeria Cavalli) revealed that his son Francesco (Domenico Balsamo) ran in the Paris ‘banlieues’ , guest of a friend, Cecilia (Carla Ferraro), to have witnessed a murder of Camorra. Michelangelo will try to create a space where the dignity of the artist will be recognized again. The film, which will be screened under titled in Turkish, is based on an unpublished subject of Roberto Rossellini.
