Palermo - Sicily showcased its best fruit and vegetables at Berlin's international 'Fruit Logistica' fair. The Sicilian region participated with 18 agrifood stakeholders, including producers, consortia and guilds for the protection of the production, together with 2884 participants coming from all corners of the world, to exhibit their products to 70,000 expected visitors.
The Sicilian region stand exhibited its excellence in terms of GPI and PDO vegetables and fruit, including the produce of organic and biodynamic farming. "Fruit Logistica is an extraordinary opportunity to promote Sicilian excellence, the pride of our territory. The data demonstrate constant growth in the fruit and vegetable sector, gaining recognition as a top benchmark in terms of quality", underlined the Regional Councillor for Agriculture, Antonello Cracolici, who attended the three-day event in Berlin. "There is a growing demand for 'Made in Sicily' products and this trend can be perceived here in Berlin too."
