Turin - Until June 25, at the Paris Air Show, the world's oldest and biggest event dedicated to the aviation and space industry, Piedmont is featuring as a major hub for attracting investments and providing suppliers and partners. Guests at the stand will notably include the Italian Minister of Defense Roberta Pinotti. Piedmont's Foreign Centre for Internationalisation (Ceipiemonte) is organizing the participation of AIAD (Italian Industries Federation for Aerospace, Defence and Security) and MOD (Italy's Defence Secretariat) in the Italian Pavilion, as part of the integrated Aerospace sector project, which is managed by Ceipiemonte on behalf of the Piedmont Region and co-financed with the ERDF - European Regional Development Fund.Tomorrow, a meeting will be devoted to Piedmont's competitiveness, entitled "Piemonte: a global hub for aerospace", to be opened by Giuseppina De Santis, Councilor for Productive Activities - Piedmont Region, and with the participation of the three key players Leonardo, Thales Alenia Space Italia and Avio Aero.
"The show in Le Bourget, alongside the Farnborough Airshow, with which it alternates every year, is one of the leading international events for the aerospace industry - Pierpaolo Antonioli, President of Ceipiemonte, explains -. Since 2003, Ceipiemonte has been regularly coordinating the Region's presence at the two events through the project labeled Torino Piemonte Aerospace, representing a total of 134 companies. At this year's show, our aims include strengthening our positioning in terms of investment opportunities in this sector, which is one of the key drivers of the regional economy."Le Bourget will also be an opportunity for reminding representatives that Turin will be Italy's aerospace capital in 2017, with the announcement of the 6th edition of Aerospace & Defense Meetings, the only international convention for the aerospace industry to be held in Italy.
The event will be hosted by the city of Turin on November 29 and 30, and this year will feature a convention preview on November 28 with a round table discussion on the importance of growth for SMEs to enable them to cope with change and tackle the procurement policies of large industrial concerns.
