Rome - Eight young Italian researchers received awards from ASCO, the most important international oncology conference, taking place in Chicago. The award the young Italians, all between the ages of 29 and 36, received is the Conquer Cancer Foundation Merit Award.
The awardees were: Emanuela Palmerini (Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli, Bologna), Daniele Rossini (University of Pisa), Giulia Leonardi (specializing at Harvard University, Boston), Loredana Puca (Cornell University, New York), Vincenza Conteduca (Istituto Tumori della Romagna, Forli - she conducted her research in London), Sara Valpione (Manchester Cancer Research Center), Matteo Lambertini (Bordet Institute, Brussels) and Lisa Derossa (Research Institute, Paris). Only two of them are currently working in Italy: Emanuela Palmerini (who has received the award for the second time) and Daniele Rossini.
