Rome - The Directorate General of Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation at the Farnesina is promoting the 17th edition of the 'Week of Italian Language in the World' whose theme will be "Italians and Cinema. Italian Language in Cinema".
The Societa Dante Alighieri has launched a film competition entitled "Come dentro uno specchio. L'Italia vista fuori dall'Italia" [As inside a mirror. Italy as seen from abroad], in cooperation with the Swiss Confederation. The competition offers both emerging and renowned young film directors between 18 and 26 years of age, from any nationality, to participate in the film competition with their short-film.
The 5-minute film can be shot with any device - a smartphone, tablet or professional camera. The goal is to show Italy in its multiple facets, including art, fashion, landscapes, cuisine, language, history and all the other features that contribute to the image of the country abroad. The deadline to deliver the films is 15 September.
