Rome - London's World Drinks Awards event has recognized Made in Italy spirits. The two latest products of Tenute Collesi, an Apecchio-based firm in the centre of the Marche's Appennines, earned the top prize at the British event, which celebrates the best liqueurs and distilled spirits in the world, along with the best in packaging those products. "We are very happy," said Giuseppe Collesi, president of Tenute Collesi.
"Receiving such recognition at an international competition, in the country which is home to some of the most prestigious spirits, is a great honour for us. It stimulates us to improve, but without forgetting what has contributed to our success story. That is a love for our territory and the passion we put into our products every day." Apecchio products have reaped four awards in the home of the major spirits labels, with competitors coming from dozens of countries. They were evaluated by an independent jury panel made up of renowned international journalists and buyers, and representatives of the industry such as master blenders, distillers and brand ambassadors, who were the jurors at the finals.
The vodka product received two medals. The first one, a gold medal, was granted within the "New Launch -Design Awards" for the elegant and contemporary design of the bottles which are long and streamlined with precious, off-white, bas-relief droplets. This design was selected for the successful launching of Vodka Collesi, which Tenute Collesi made in June 2016. The second medal was awarded in the Taste section where the sophisticated blend of wheat, grapes and wine processed according to a slow and accurate traditional method was extolled for its soft, harmonious and full-bodied taste. It ranked first for its "lovely chocolate notes alongside the taste of cereals and wheat. Well-balanced features and a quite pronounced finish." The brand's gin was awarded two silver medals, one of which was granted in the 'Compound' category, which assessed the balance of aromas in the spirits. The Collesi Gin also won in the 'Design Awards' category highlighting its sinuous bottle and elegant and exclusive packaging. These four latest awards add to the 71 that Tenute Collesi has received in the past few years in every sector of its production. This goes beyond gin and vodka, and includes grappa and artisanal beers, now distributed in the four continents straight from the heart of the Marche's Appennines.
