Rome - Tehran will host the first edition of the Iran-Italy Science, Technology and Innovation Forum on 19 and 20 April. This is the first event after the reopening of trade channels. It will be devoted to scientific and technological exchanges between Italy and Iran, promoted by the Ministry of Education, University and Research, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
The Forum represents the high point of a broader programme, which is based on a stable platform, coordinated by the Citta' della Scienza di Napoli, enabling universities, research centres and enterprises in the two countries with a high innovation impact to have a constant exchange of scientific and technological cooperation. It has been organised with networking and matchmaking services and aims for a dialogue on innovation. The event also seeks to create one-on-one opportunities to give rise to technological, productive and trade partnerships between Italian and Iranian research centres, universities and innovative enterprises.
The first edition of the Forum will take place in Tehran and alternatively in Italy and Iran. The Forum on 19 and 20 April will be at the Shahid Beheshti University campus in Tehran, and attended by the Minister of Education Valeria Fedeli and Minister Mohammad Farhadi. The programme includes the participation of the Italian National Research Council, the National Institute for Nuclear Physics, the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities, NETVAL and Confindustria, which make up a broad representation of Italy's major stakeholders involved in the internationalisation of research and innovation.
The Italian delegation is made up of 150 members representing universities, research centres and innovative enterprises. Among the institutional attendees: the President of the National Research Council, Massimo Inguscio; the Councillor for Internationalisation, Startups and Innovation of the Campania Region, Valeria Fascione; the Councillor for Economic development of the Lazio Region, Guido Fabiani; and the Secretary General of the Citta della Scienza, Vincenzo Lipardi.
