Oristano - A group of German tourists will be the first to test the new widespread accommodation system, in the "soft" tourism style, launched last summer at Nughedu Santa Vittoria, a small municipality with just under 500 souls in the Province of Oristano.
The visitors will be offered a holiday where the highlight is good food as proposed in a catalogue that was diffused in Germany. The "Nughedu Welcome" brand is supported by the Municipality of the little Sardinian town where other tourists will be arriving in April - May, and in September - October.
For lunch the German tourists will be the guests of a family that lives in the little town, in line with the rules of 'social eating' and with the values of sharing."The goal", says Tomaso Ledda, project manager of Nabui, the company that developed the "Nughedu Welcome" project, "is to make of this town the point of reference for the Sardinian hinterland in the testing the so-called 'soft' tourism model, that is experiential and flexible, capable of adapting to demand on the basis of the seasons and in accordance with the availability of local produce".
Tourists will discover the streets of Nughedu, walk with the shepherds along ancient paths and learn about the legends on the birth of the town, thanks to the archaeological finds. The exodus of people can be fought by providing economic opportunities", says the Mayor, Francesco Mura. "The challenge is to remain in one's home town and do one's best with the available resources ".
