Tripoli - A delegation of Italian entrepreneurs and businessmen recently travelled to Zintan, in northwestern Libya, approximately 160 kilometres southwest of Tripoli. The aim of the mission was to meet representatives of the local administration to discuss possible bilateral cooperation projects.
News about the business mission was released by Libyan media, which underlined that the delegation was led by the Mayor of Verona, Flavio Tosi, and the Italian envoy for Libya, Giorgio Starace, accompanied them. The communique highlighted that the entrepreneurial mission would involve the signing of agreements accounting for several million euros to build a school, hospitals, a hotel, an airport and some food stores in Zintan.
Last October, the local administrations of Verona and Zintan signed a 'friendship and twinning agreement' for the two cities.
