(AGI) Los Angeles, Dec 17 - The fourth app in the virtual guideseries 'Italy Art LA', dedicated to Italian art and culture inLos Angeles, has been launched. The idea was the brainwave ofthe Italian Embassy in Washington, which created a project onItaly's artistic heritage in the U.S. as part of the 150 yearsof Italian Unity celebrations. The Italian Cultural Institutein Los Angeles then published a booklet in 2012, followed by asmartphone app, produced by Mediars and dedicated to the cityof Los Angeles and its artistic and cultural heritage. Thefirst three walks, put together over the last two years, arefree to download and focus entirely on works of art. The fourthdocuments Italian migration to Los Angeles, told throughstories and places. It discusses the folly and genius of SabatoRodia, who designed and built the Watts Towers; the businesssense and generosity of the most beautiful woman in LosAngeles, Arcadia Bandini; and Latin lover par excellence,Rudolph Valentino. It also touches on the Italian wineproducers in Olvera Street and the first major Americanseaport, built by the Di Rocco brothers at San Pedro. Anothertwo apps, focusing on food and wine and design, will bepublished in 2015. L.A.
