(AGI) Jakarta, Dec 1 - Scientific collaboration between Italyand Indonesia will be enhanced. Two seminars have beenorganised on this topic by Professor Nicoletta Maria Ravasio atthe Department of Mathematical and Natural Sciences ofBrawijaya University, in Malang, Indonesia. The first willfocus on 'The role of catalysis in the roadmap to Bioeconomy:the case of oleochemicals'. Issues like bioproducts andbiofuels derived from vegetable oils, including palm oil, willbe discussed according to the concept of bio-refinery. Theother seminar will address 'Mono- and bifunctional processesin terpenes and essential oils transformation'. All theseissues are being increasingly debated across the world, andwill boost scientific collaboration with the Indonesianuniversity. Professor Ravasio, top National Research Council(CNR) researcher and professor at the University of MIlan,organised the events together with the CNR and the Institute ofMolecular Science and Technologies, with the support of theItalian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Jakarta.On the agenda will be opportunities for postdoctoral work orstudent exchange programmes, for which the Indonesiangovernment allocates funds to young graduates achievingspecialisations abroad.
