(VELINO) Roma, 19 Sep - The second meeting of the Italy-SwedenJoint Committee was held recently in Stockholm and concludedwith the signing of the 2014-2017 Executive Programme ofScientific and Technological Cooperation. Ambassador toStockholm, Elena Basile, led the Italian delegation while theDirector General of Local National Research Council, SvenStafstroem, led the Swedish one. The Committee assessed thecurrent state of cooperation between the two countries andnoted the growing importance of their partnership in scienceand technology in relation to the economic, social and culturalrelationship of the two countries. At the same time, theCommittee approved five particularly important projects thatwill receive a financial contribution from the EducationMinistry in the period 2014 to 2017. The research projectsconcern scientific and technological cooperation in areas ofcommon interest such an Ageing Society, Cultural Heritage,Nanoscience and Neuroscience. vel.
