(VELINO) Roma, 12 Apr - The Pan-Ukranian Italian language competition will take place in Kiev on 19-21 April. Every year, hundreds of Ukranian students learning Italian at local universities - especially in Kiev, Kharkiv, Leopolis, Mariupol and Odessa - participate in this two-stage competition. First, each university selects its best 30 students who are then invited to compete in the finals, for the award of "Best student of Italian language in Ukraine." To enter the Pan-Ukranian Italian language Olympics, students must prove their semantic, lexical and morphosyntactic skills as well as socio-cultural competence to allow for an Italo-Ukranian jury panel to assess their command of the language as well as their knowledge of Italian culture. The initiative was organised by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Linguistics University of Kiev, in conjunction with the Italian Cultural Institute in Kiev and the Kiev Committee of the Dante Alighieri Society. The finals will take place in Kiev. vel
