Rome - "From June 29, citizens in eastern Libya will be able to book an appointment to apply for a visa for Italy via the desk opening in Tobruk. This is major news." These were the words of Angelino Alfano, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The Head of the Farnesina stressed: "I have personally followed and encouraged this step, which is meant as a signal of support and solidarity for the communities and the populations in these areas. It aims to promote the widespread presence of Italy throughout the North African country, and aid an understanding of the various Libyan regional identities."
