Italy showcases Macerata in China

Ascoli Piceno - The Chinese city of Taicang is showcasing the best products of companies from Macerata and the Marche Region. The Macerata Pavilion, hosted at the Taicang Trade Center, is the result of a long-standing cultural, institutional and entrepreneurial collaboration between China and the Marche Region, finally formalized in a friendship agreement that was signed in January 2016.

The Pavilion is displaying the products of 14 firms from Macerata and across the Region, that are participating in a project designed by the Municipality of Macerata, in cooperation with the association of local industrialists (Confindustria Macerata) and Exit, a promotion agency of the local Chamber of Commerce. The ceremony, which took place on Friday, was attended by Chinese authorities, the deputy-mayor of Macerata Stefania Monteverde, the councillor for productive activities Paola Casoni, the head of the Macerata Opera Festival, Luciano Messi, the representative of Confindustria Marche Carlo Cipriani, and a delegate from the Federazione Italiana Cuochi, Alessandro Campetella.

A fashion show of outfits, handbags and shoes, was organized to present the products from Marche companies during the Italian Food Week . A tasting session of top quality wines, olive oil, chocolate from the Marche completed the evening. The head of the Macerata Opera Festival, Luciano Messi, is also working on a project to enhance the 'Notte dell'Opera' (Opera Night) in cooperation with Taicang schools with a view to having a Kung Fu and martial art show staged in Macerata's renowned 'Sferisterio'. On Friday, the delegation coming from Macerata met fifty football coaches who recently finished a training course promoted by Via Soccer, with coaches from the Marche Region.
