Bologna - FICO (Fabbrica Italiana Contadina) is participating in the Internationale Tourismus-Borse, ITB, Germany's largest tourism fair, which Berlin is hosting till March 12. "We have a new destination to offer the world, and we are glad to present FICO to the German market, which is one of most important in Europe. We intend to give our contribution to make Italy a quality destination, where food and wine, territory and culture combine in a unique experience," said Tiziana Primori, CEO of FICO Eataly World.
Italy's agri-food park, the world's largest, is due to open in Bologna next October. It is being showcased at ITB in the Italian area, where Oscar Farinetti, Eataly Founder and FICO CEO attended the inauguration ceremony. Participating in the ITB is a first step in the cooperation between the tourism agency, ENIT, and FICO Eataly World after the agreement signed in Rome on February 15. It is also an opportunity to present the unique value of FICO as a point of reference to disseminate information about the Italian agri-industry and promote knowledge of it.
"It is a matter of communicating and enhancing the wealth of our thousand villages and of our agrifood diversity," continued Ms Primori. "FICO can be a new international destination, capable of offering a 'taste' of a very beautiful country that deserves to be discovered, while promoting information and knowledge about Italian products and the territories they originate from."
FICO Eataly World is the world's largest agrifood park, whose eight hectares will contain Italy's biodiversity: two hectares of farming lands and open-air stables; and six hectares indoors hosting 40 factories, 40 catering places, shops and a market, as well as sports areas and zones for children, reading corners and service areas. There will be also six classrooms, six large educational 'merry-go-rounds', a theatre, a movie theatre, and a modular conference centre seating from 50 to 1,000 people. FICO facilities will host the activities entrusted to the Foundation, which also comprises universities.
