(AGI) Brussels, Nov 22 - The terrorist threat remains "seriousand imminent", confirmed Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michelduring a press conference at the end of the Security Committeemeeting on Sunday. "We hope to obtain a review of the alertlevel during the course of the day to return to life as normalas quickly possible," he said. For the second day, 69 stationsof the city's 4 metro lines will remain closed, the primeminister announced. The threats remain targeted on publictransport systems, shopping centres and shopping districts, inaddition to bars and restaurants and large events attractinglarge crowds, he explained. The alert level was raised to themaximum of 4 on a 4-tier scale for the metropolitan area ofBrussels on the night between Friday and Saturday while itremained at 3 for the rest of Belgium. "It is equally serious,in this case too the threat is credible," Mr Michel aded. Healso confirmed that there are indications of a Paris-stylemultiple attack like the one of Nov. 13. The Belgian primeminister also announced that the school lockdown in Brusselswill be extended to Monday. "We are very aware that thissituation is very difficult for everyone and that the decisionstaken will complicate the economy's and professional lifetomorrow. We are not happy about this situation but we mustassume our responsibilities," he continued. He added: "Schoolsand universities will remain closed while for nursery schools,the closure will not be general and will be decided on acase-by-case basis; we call for caution and common sense."
